The Cisco CRS Series Forwarding Processor 140G is part of the Cisco family which provides the broadest line of solutions for transporting data, voice and video while ensuring that networks both public and private operate with maximum performance, security, and flexibility. The CRS-FP140 provides distributed forwarding engine capability for the Cisco CRS Family and is responsible for data-plane processing tasks, handling all network traffic flows through it. The Cisco CRS Series Forwarding Processor performs all baseline packet routing operations, including Layer 3 forwarding, quality-of-service (QoS) classification, policing and shaping, security access control lists (ACLs), VPNs, load balancing, and NetFlow.
