With the WS-X4013+ there is a primary unit that is responsible for efficient operation, and a secondary engine serves as an alternate that monitors the primary supervisor’s regular operations. It has 64 Gbps of switching fabric and a 48-million-packets-per-second speed to aid in performance and scalability.
