The Edelbrock 8827 is a two-piece insert-style water pump with a 1.80″ diameter inlet designed for small block Chevrolet engines used in competition- The pump uses the same hub height (5 13/16″) as the short leg pump found on 1971-82 Corvettes – It offers weight savings along with increased durability and cooling potential – The #8828 is a replacement insert service item for the #8827.- Installation is the same as for original equipment water pumps, although it does require longer than stock mounting bolts – Consult service manual for specific procedures, if necessary – A -2 AN bleeder screw is installed at the top of the pump. – Loosen the screw after filling the cooling system to remove any air.
