NPE-G1 Cisco Network Processing Engine
The Cisco Network Processing Engine is part of the Cisco family which provides the broadest line of solutions for transporting data, voice and video while ensuring that networks both public and private operate with maximum performance, security, and flexibility. This Network Processing Engine comes with three fixed 10/100/1000 Fast/Gigabit Ethernet ports that don’t take up bandwidth points and 64 MB of Flash Memory with space for expanding to 256 MB allows you to benefit from increased functionality even without an I/O external controller. The NPE-G1 has a large amount of RAM enabling you to execute more routing tables and scale up built-in features like Access Control Lists and NetFlow. It is IEEE 802-compliant and supports IP network services like broadband aggregation and Quality of Service implementations.
