The Cisco Catalyst 4500 48-Port 10/100/1000 provides 6 gigabits of switching capacity and support for Cisco’s intelligent software. This 48 port module is divided in to six port groups with each group containing eight 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports which can access 1 Gbps of switching capacity. The module is ideal for challenging enterprise solutions as it is designed to bring Gigabit speeds directly from a fast backbone to your desktop computers. The WS-X4548-GB-RJ45 relies on IEEE 802.3x flow control so you can benefit from consistent, optimized traffic at all times. The WS-X4548-GB-RJ45 Cisco Line Card supports Cisco’s proprietary IOS Software, as long as you’re running Release 12.1(19)EW or a later version and only takes up one expansion slot in your current Catalyst device.
