The Cisco Catalyst 4500 PoE Switch Module with 802.3af has built-in flow control and is ideal for building capable networks that don’t depend on anything but the hubs that run them. This device has 48 x 10/100/1000 standard RJ-45 Ethernet ports which are arranged into six groups of eight, keeping your devices easily organized. Each of these groups share a total of 1 Gbps of bandwidth, making traffic issues avoidable by putting data-hungry devices in separate groups. The Cisco Catalyst interface card is the ideal expansion card for improving the capability of your Cisco Catalyst 4500-series devices as it is rated for a maximum power consumption of 60 Watts, and has a long mean time between failures of 434,646 hours.
